Puppy Visit

Megan and her mother, Mary, as well as Wayne came today (through some terrible traffic) to visit with the puppies.  The puppies weren't shy at all about getting scritches from these new people!  The boys, of course, just snoozed through the whole visit.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  Hope you are surrounded by friends or family on this day of thanks.  The puppies started their Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey breakfast.  Hope you enjoy watching them!  (Yay! Susan told me how to link my uploaded video.)  There are a couple VERY naughty girls in this crowd!

Puppy FIGHTS!

This is Congo and China duking it out--with Cameroon mediating.  Watching is Cuba and the whale--oops, I mean Chile couldn't be bothered to get to her feet to join in.

Yes, the puppy wrasslin' has begun!  Hope you enjoy these new photos of the Chatre!  The two to my immediate right are the fellas--Cuba and Congo!

Puppy Pirana!!!

Sooo, I was concerned because the smallest boy, Cuba, did not seem to be as active nor was he gaining weight at the same pace as his sibs--so I decided to run to the store and get G'ma Penni's recipe for baby puppies--ground turkey, goat's milk, and a dash of olive oil.  I came home and mixed up a batch--warming the milk in the microwave which in turn warmed the turkey--the oil is to keep the puppies from becoming constipated.  I really only intended to supplement Cuba--who took to this mixture like a duck takes to water!  HOWEVER, first Cameroon smelled something YUMMY in the box and came charging over to sample this nectar of the gods and then the whale--oops, I mean, Ms. Chile jerked up out of a sound sleep with her nose in the air and went, "Ye, Gods!  I smell me some MEAT!"  and came charging over to sample bits which had fallen onto the blanket--YUMMM!  they said, and the feeding frenzy was ON!!!!  A few more meals like that and I probably can stop worrying about Mr. Cuba!  All the puppies have collapsed now into a turkey stupor!

Catching Up

Sorry, folk, I've been showing the Chatre's half sister, Lowri, at the Knoxville dog shows for the past two days to finish her CHAMPIONSHIP at the ripe old age of 10 months!!! Whoo-hoo!  So far in the past two days Lowri has gone Best of Breed over three champions, a Best of Opposite Sex over two champions and took a Puppy Herding Group 1!   We're hoping some of her half sisters and brothers have her attitude and showmanship!

Now on to the babies!!! Everyone continues to gain weight and as of last night they weighed:  China 27.4 oz, Chile 32.2 oz, Cameroon 29.4 oz, Congo weighed in at 26.9 oz and Cuba came in at 24.2 oz!  Treasure continues to be a wonderful mommy, taking very good care of her babies!  I'm going to put in a couple photos taken this morning which show Cameroon, Cuba and China.  Enjoy!

1 Week old!! Yay, Chatre

Who'da thunk it, given the beginning of this story?  Plus, we had to run BACK to the ER vet on Sunday night as Ms. Treasure developed mastitis (personally, I think it's because they shot her up with too much oxytocin).  So another night or two without sleep and I'm positively weaving at work by 3 p.m. BUT, Treasure is all better now (still on antibiotics, tho) and the puppies are THRIVING!  Here is the one week weights:  China 22.3 oz  Chile 26.4 oz  Cameroon  21.9 oz  Congo is 22 oz even and Cuba is 20.4 oz.
