Wayne with Gwyneth (?sp)

Wayne posing with Gwyneth

Wayne will be taking little Chile (soon to be Gwyneth) home after Christmas!

Duck dogs are BORN--not made!

Chile says, WHAT are those?

Cammy says--Do they eat puppies?

China says, NO!  Puppies can make 'em RUN!
So I took the girls to Susan's house for their first puppy shots and to see how they react to the ducks--here is the result.  As you will see, China is a born duck dog!  She was AMAZING!  When one of the ducks escaped the pen, she left the pen after it to bring it back!  WOW!  What an amazing puppy!  The others were interested but not to the same extent (must have more of their daddy in them--he's not so impressed with ducks either!).

Fun with Dick and Jane (errr, I mean Uncle Kear & Sister Lowri)

And your name is again?

Umm, how many are there?

Hey, China!  I'm Uncle Kearney.

You see, I SNEAK up on 'em like this!

You can use that lesson on sneaking lots of places.

No, I'm not giving you the keys to the car!

WOW!  You're FAST, Lowri!
Hauled all the puppies about an hour up north -- with one puppy or another screaming the entire trip -- introduction to puppy napping by car 101.  We did temperament testing and had a lovely meal and visit with old friends.  Enjoy the photos!

Fun with Daddy

You see, once upon a time there was this . . .

Hey, Cammy, where ya goin'?

Girls gone WILD!

Since it wasn't raining and was a reasonable temperature, I hauled the puppies out to one of the fields and got some photos outside.  There is also a short video.  Chase had a lot of fun running rings around the first two girls I brought out.  There was story telling, and stick chewing and tree climbing!  What a day!

Puppy Weights at start of 6th week

Here are the weights of the puppies starting their 6th week:

China                                5.6 lbs
Chile                                 7.28 lbs (a/k/a the "Whale")
Cameroon                         6.38 lbs
Congo                               5.7 lbs
Cuba                                 5.0 lbs

Cuba is catching up!  The girls better watch out once he gets a bit more weight on him!

They also had their third worming tonight after weigh-ins.  Tried to serve it to them in a nice china dessert bowl--neither Congo nor Cuba were fooled by the fancy dinner plate--had to force the stuff down their gullets using a syringe--Congo kept his jaws LOCKED in protest!

Herding with dangly bits

Whoo-hoo!  Get that sheep back with the rest!

So, since I have ripped Treasure away from the Fab5, I took her herding with Chase, Kearney and Lowri this morning.  It's been about two months since she's worked with sheep and she did GREAT!  In fact, her trainer (Susan) said she was doing better after the layoff and motherhood experience than BEFORE!  Enjoy the photos!

Second Puppy Party

Cameroon

Cuba

Can't you just SEE China's halo?

Congo

Wayne and Cuba

We had us a lot of fun at our second puppy party.  Wayne, Josh, Bethany and Christy (sp?) were all present to play with the puppies.  Enjoy some of the photos courtesy of Bethany's mom!

New 5 1/2 week photos

This is China.  Isn't she pretty!  The next photo is China's side shot.  The next head shot is Congo -- who REFUSED to cooperate so you only get this little shot.  Next is -- yup, you guessed it -- Cameroon -- followed by a side shot of Chile with paper hanging from her mouth (we didn't notice that in time).  Next two are Cuba.  Handsome fella! And the last one is Chile--a/k/a Chili Pepper!

China's side view

G'ma Penni--they're trying to make me POSE!  Said Congo.

Cameroon said--what's going on over there?

Yes, that's paper hanging out of Chile's mouth!

Chile--still with the hanging chad.
